2025 Report Card for Ohio's Infrastructure

ASCE will unveil the 2025 Report Card for Ohio’s Infrastructure on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at an in-person news conference at the Ohio Statehouse Ladies Gallery. The report, which is issued once every four years, evaluates 17 categories across the state: aviation, bridges, dams, drinking water, energy, hazardous waste, inland waterways, levees, ports, public parks, rail, roads, schools, solid waste, stormwater, transit and wastewater. The Ohio report comes on the heels of ASCE’s 2025 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, which was released in March.

The maintenance and modernization of Ohio’s infrastructure remains vital to the local and regional economy, public health, safety, and security. However, the state’s infrastructure is being strained by aging assets, funding deficiencies, and increasingly frequent extreme weather conditions.

Because all Ohio residents and businesses pay for these systems through taxes and user fees, decisions about infrastructure must be made based on long-term comprehensive planning and with sustainable and reliable funding sources.

The purpose of the 2025 Report Card for Ohio’s Infrastructure is to raise public awareness of the importance of modern and well-maintained infrastructure. This report will help citizens and decision-makers understand how Ohio’s infrastructure is faring and what can be done to modernize its systems.
